A Little Bit Of Old (And A Little Bit Of New)

By Ryan, January 4, 2009 2:00 am

Here are the last two posts posted to The Sophomore Chronicles (before it was bought out by some soul-less, internet-crawling bot):

Huzzah!

Last night was crunch time, folks. I had to write an ESYS paper and prepare for a Poli Sci debate all while feeling terribly, terribly sick. At 2am I was staring at my computer monitor (I swear it was getting brighter), trying to write a sentence about domoic acid concentration in benthopelagic fish (I think the professors may hate us) and I couldn’t help but think about what it must be like to be grown up and not have to worry about papers ‘n schoolin’ ‘n other stuff that I don’t much care for. When I grow up, I want to have adventures and enjoy myself. Hmph!

Luckily, I didn’t set myself up for absolute bone-age. I had researched my debate well enough and had picked out all of the primary-source papers for my ESYS paper…so really, if it weren’t for the surprise sickness I would have been sitting pretty!

I finally got the layout dialed-in for the new chron! Now I am able to post via blogger.com, making things more convenient for the both of us. I hope you like the new layout. Next project is to upload a bunch of photos and work on the misc. page.

Bye-bye for now!

Poli Sci Debates

I’m in class right now, listening to debates on the Death Penalty & Affirmative Action, and I really would like to debate all of these issues. There are many things that I’d like to add…but I’ll get my chance in a week, I suppose. I’m arguing that loosening environmental laws to promote domestic energy is a good thing. My group is quite large so I may not get to speak as much as I’d like. Grrr…so it goes.

This look is only temporary. I just need to put some code into my newspaper-ish layout I have for The Chron.

I know this chron isn’t very entertaining or insightful, but I’m trying to listen to the debates while I write this. Why am I not only listening to the debates? Well, they’re not terribly entertaining by themselves, either. : P

=============

City work is getting more exciting and knife sharpening is bringing in the bacon.  Staying afloat (financially) is the main priority right now.  I am currently trying to get a knife sharpening gig at the Hillcrest Farmers Market.  If that doesn’t pan out, I’ll try for the local Henry’s grocery store.  I need one more store/location to be able to bank some reasonable money.  Horray for self employment!!
