Keep On Keepin’ On
Summer is over and Fall is here. I actually really like this time of year. I’m reminded of everything that I like about winter without having to experience any of the bad stuff (especially since I don’t have school). Work is going alright… getting in a solid 17-20 hours a week with my internship and working the knife sharpening biz and selling stuff on eBay. I’m paying my monthly bills and have just about paid off my credit cards. They weren’t very high but I don’t have a lot of money so it’s taken a little while. I’m applying to a bunch of jobs but right now my best prospect seems to be substitute teaching. I just got the OK from the TB test and tomorrow I’ll turn in the rest of my paperwork and I’ll be a credentialed sub! I’ll welcome the extra income it will hopefully bring… I just need to work more hours!
For graduation, my Ma and Ray got MJ and I two tickets for a hot air balloon ride. Well, we finally went on Tuesday and it was the best! Perfect conditions: warm, clear skies, good company. Couldn’t have been better. Honestly, if you ever find yourself with some extra money and a girlfriend go on one of these rides.
I started a webcomic (Tinsel’s Tavern) over at Stroke City and I’m already blowing it with the update schedule. The purpose of the first arc was to see what I could handle and 3 updates/week just seems too much for me at this time. I’m still learning how to draw so even though my comics are very rudimentary, they take me a LONG time. I’m hoping to finish out this story arc, do a week of journal comics from the San Fransisco trip to flesh out the next story, and then do a Monday/Friday update while advertising via Project Wonderful. If a significant amount of people stay then great! If not, I’ll have to rework my plans.
It feels like I have a lot of projects going on right now: internship projects, Stroke City, pimpin’ out my urban cottage, looking for jobs, and my woodworking project (a pendulum clock). btw, the pendulum clock is coming along nicely! The walnut I chose is really great and I’m learning a lot in the process. Horray!
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! You’re not really doing me a favor, I guess, but it’s still nice that you care enough to invest some time into this blog. Don’t forget to vote on Tuesday, everybody! : ))
