Man, school is totally kicking my butt. It figures that the two classes I have to finish to get my two degrees end up being a couple of the hardest classes of my schoolin’ career. It doesn’t help that my rough draft in one class and my midterm in the other are on the same day.
With class + (four days of work)/week I generally feel like a punching bag. When it rains it pours, huh? The end is near…but not till 10pm on August 2nd.
Wish me luck!
I just got home and decided to chronicle my really fun Sunday. I started my day with a frisbee golf session down in Balboa park with B, Erin, Travis, JRob, MJ, and Cutter. Today was a beautiful day for disk golfing with nice winds to keep us all cool from the warm summer weather. It was MJ’s first DG session and she actually did very well I though. I also got a birdy on a par 3 which I’m not sure if I’ve ever done before! B and I ended up having a close game with me finishing only a couple strokes behind him. Good game, everybody!
After disk golf MJ, Cutter, and myself came back home for a little lunch and some R&R. At around 5:30pm MJ and I headed down to O.B. to a really neat bar to meet up with our Earth Science friend, Paul. There were a number of DJ’s at the place spinning electronica music. It was a really awesome experience: girls w/ dreadlocks doing crazy fluid dances, DJ’s throwing down some awesome musics, the funny buff-guy hanging out with all the hippies, the pizza-tosser dancing while tossing the pizza dough, and one of the largest selections of beers (both on tap and in bottle form) I’ve ever been exposed to at once. I had a wild blueberry beer, a wheat beer called “Purple Haze”, and an Amber ale. The three of us chatted it up (as much as we could with the loud music) for about 3 hours before MJ and I had to peace out. When we exited the establishment a guy was standing on top of a large ball (’bout 3′ in diameter, hard like a bowling ball) and was dancing to the music while a crowd around him was cheering and taking pictures. I really wish I had brought my camera but I guess this one will just have to stay with me. The bar was only about 100 yards from the beach so MJ and I sat on the boardwalk, watched the surf for a bit, and then came home. Horray for eclectic Sundays!
(P.S. These two phone messages are hilarious)
